Thank you for visiting! My name is Felicia Ortiz and I am running to retain my seat on the Board of Education for District 3 because I care about the future of Nevada’s children. It has been one of my greatest honors to serve on the State Board of Education since 2016. I was initially appointed by former Governor Sandoval and then won the election in 2016.
I am determined to represent you to the best of my ability. Together, we can make a difference in the lives of children and families in District 3.
As a business owner and product of the public education system and daughter of an educator, I believe deeply in the power of public education. Our state is moving in the right direction after a historic legislative session in 2015. We can continue that work by ensuring that our children are ready for college and the workplace.
I believe Nevada’s future rests on making sure every child in every neighborhood has access to the high-quality public education they deserve.
We must support all teachers and encourage them as they work to instill a passion for learning in all children. I have been fighting to make sure our educators are given the resources, tools and support they need to make our children successful members of society.
As your member of the Board of Education, I will continue to work within the community and help raise the voices of students, teachers and parents to make sure they are heard.
Together, I know that we can give every child in Nevada the opportunity to become successful adults and productive members of our community.
